Welcome to Thy Chamber Music Festival 2024

This coming August, once again, musicians from around the world will come together for two weeks of joyful music making here in Thy, Denmark.
The festival is a time to discover and rediscover great chamber music, new approaches to making our music even more alive, a remarkable natural environment, new people...
Summer light, intriguing landscapes, the sea and the fjords, invigorating winds - these are as much a part of the unique experience of our festival as are the music of Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Dohnanyi, Janacek, Langgard, Norgaard, Mogens Christensen, Alban Berg that our outstanding musicians will come here to perform. Some concerts will also include short selections of music composed spontaneously during the festival by participants who have chosen to also experiment with improvisation and group composition.
The distinctive quality of musicianship one can hear in our concerts is perhaps the most meaningful and living proof of what happens when so many wonderful elements of life and music join together. That rare artistic intensity - beautiful and balanced - is naturally catalyzed thanks in no small part to the generosity of so many committed helpers whose selfless efforts allow us to work under rather ideal conditions.
